Farmgate milk prices

What the big European dairies actually pay their farmers, recalculated by EDF and ZuivelNL to one standard milk — 4.2% fat, 3.4% protein, a million kilos a year — so the lines differ only where the payment policy does.

Every dairy on the panel

The same figures, dairy by dairy, dearest payer first. Each card carries the last month that dairy filed and what it moved against the month before it — the panel does not report in step, so a card is read at its own month rather than at a shared one. Open one for its full history and to set it against the others.

How the comparison works

European Dairy Farmers collects the payout data and ZuivelNL calculates what each dairy would have paid for exactly the same milk. That strips out differences in fat, protein and volume, so what remains is the company's payment policy — the only thing worth comparing. Emmi, Fonterra and the US Class III price sit outside the European average, as references.
